EMS Research Strategic Plan Consensus Development MeetingWashington Terrace Hotel 1515 Rhode Island Avenue, NW Washington, DC (202) 232-7000 Fax (202) 332-8436 March 1 & 2, 2005The National EMS Research Agenda team is engaged in a process designed to develop a listing of research priorities in EMS. Using an iterative consensus process in combination with a working meeting, we hope to build a document that will achieve consensus throughout the EMS community and be useful to both researchers and funding agencies. The EMS strategic plan is intended to assist in the research process by guiding the advancement of the science behind EMS practices. Researchers, organizations, EMS professionals and other interested individuals were invited to contribute to this process. A listing of the top priorities for EMS research has been developed through a consensus process. This EMS research strategic plan was discussed and finalized during an open meeting, which was held on March 1st and 2nd 2005 at the Washington Terrace Hotel, 1515 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. The meeting agenda is available here. This meeting was designed to provide a forum for discussion aimed at improving the usefulness of this EMS research strategic plan for both researchers and funding agencies. We wish to produce a document that advances a conceptual framework for EMS research priorities. The final document was published in Prehospital Emergency Care in
